NovaTorque Motor Efficiency

The NovaTorque motor technology provides unprecedented operating efficiencies.  Below are graphs showing motor efficiency data from a Department of Energy report which estimates the "practical limits" of the efficiency of Electronically  Commutated Permanent Magnet (ECPM) motors and Induction motors.  These "practical limits" represent the highest efficiency that was considered possible for these types of motors.  NovaTorque motors, which are a type of ECPM motor, actually exceed the "practical limits" of efficiency predicted in this report!

The first graph shows NovaTorque motor efficiency data compared with compressor motor efficiencies.  Compressor motors have above-average efficiency.

The second graph shows NovaTorque motor efficiency compared with all other non-compressor motors.  These motors have more typical efficiencies than compressor motors.

Note: The motor efficiencies shown in the above graphs are the electro-mechanical efficiencies of the motors only and do not include drive efficiencies.

Widespread adoption of NovaTorque’s ultra-efficient motors would result in over $100B energy savings per year worldwide. Besides helping consumers’ wallets, NovaTorque motors could reduce the carbon footprint of virtually all households and businesses, resulting in a total reduction of over 1 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
